The Sparks 1974 box set, released in November 2024 by Edsel Records, is a 50th Anniversary Edition of two of the band's seminal albums, "Kimono My House" and "Propaganda."
The set is housed in a 7-inch cardboard box (the size of a vinyl single) and includes three discs:
Box Set Contents
• CD 1: "Kimono My House." The band's third studio album (May 1974), which became their commercial breakthrough. Includes their biggest hit, "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us."
• CD 2: "Propaganda." The band's fourth album (November 1974), which cemented their success in the UK with tracks such as "Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth" and "Something for the Girl with Everything."
• CD 3: Bonus Tracks. A disc of rare material: B-sides (e.g., "Barbecutie," "Alabamy Right"), demos, and a live recording of "Amateur Hour" (Fairfield Halls, 1975).
This edition brings together work from the Mayle brothers' "London period," when they moved from Los Angeles to the UK and developed their classic glam rock sound.
• Remastered: The sound has been remastered specifically for this 50th anniversary edition to highlight the "wall of sound" and Russell's falsetto
