A strategy game about building castles and defending them against invaders. Becastled takes place in a fantasy world torn apart by the conflict between light and darkness, and was developed by the small Mana Potion Studios. Becastled is a strategy game combining elements of city builders and tower defense games, with action set in a fantasy world and low-poly graphics. The title was created by Mana Potion Studios, which has produced several small productions. You can test it for free in the demo version. Mechanics We begin by selecting parameters that influence the rules and difficulty level of the game. We decide how long our adventure should last (or disable any time constraints), the terrain we will build our castle on (low/high hill, plain, etc.), the difficulty of fighting attacking enemies, the amount of resources we will receive, and the number of neutral characters/animals that will appear on the map. Then we move on to the main game. Becastled is a real-time game with a day and night system that changes the gameplay. During the day, we develop the castle, and at night, we fend off attacks from enemy forces. To ensure our settlement functions efficiently and resists enemies, we must plan all our activities carefully. We send our workers to various corners of the map to collect resources such as wood or stone, from which we then construct the necessary buildings. These are divided into organizational, economic, military, and decorative. We use them to train soldiers, recruit workers, ensure the well-being of all our inhabitants, and strengthen our defense posts. We can also expand them to enhance their effectiveness. Every night, we are attacked by the forces of darkness. The further we progress in the game, the more of them there are, and the better units they consist of. If they manage to destroy our main base, we lose. We defend ourselves by leading groups of melee or ranged soldiers. During battles, we can also support our men with ballistae or trebuchet fire. It's also crucial to utilize the terrain appropriately when building fortifications to ensure that enemies suffer the maximum losses during their approach to the settlement.
